Spring of 2015 Grant Recipients

Pedometer Lifetime Fitness
Funded to Kayla Kodet/ Lomira and Theresa Elementary
As the kindergarten through 5th grade physical education teacher in the Lomira School District, I have decided that the use of differnt pedometer activities in my classes would really boost the motivation level and increase the amount of movement for each student. Each student would have their own pedometer and they would be able to track the number of steps, activity time and calories burned each time they use the pedometers.

Painting Hope
Funded to Dwaine Dailey/ Lomira School District
We would like to host nationally renowned artist/speaker Eric Samuel Timm. Mr. Timm will deliver powerful messages about safe and effective decision-making, the power of positive thinking and character traits that inspire our students to be contributors to a supportive and welcoming community. All students from 4K-12th grade will be a member of one of three separate audiences who will participate in the live art performances.

Physical Education Badmitton
Funded to Trudy Tietz/ St. Paul's Lutheran School
The badmiton equipment will provide K-6th grade students with a physically motivating and engaging exercise for their bodies as well as minds. This equipment will allow students the opportunities to participate in state standards that require physical movement of the body during the course of a school day which in turn promotes life long skills of healthy living.

iMac Replacement
Funded to Elizabeth Bauer/ Lomira High School
I am proposing to replace the iMac computers in the graphics communication classroom. The existing iMacs are 9 years old and to keep up with the latest technology it is important to provide students with up to date technology. IMac computers are content specific and the industry standard for design. The iMac computers are important tools that are used to empower students in their creative thinking, critical thinking, communication and collaboration in working toward a career pathway.
